1. Never give your home address, email address or telephone number to a stranger.
2. Always arrange to meet in a very public place, i.e. a Pub or Restaurant. Never invite a stranger to your home.
3. Always tell someone else where you are going and approximately what time you will be back home.
4. Above all use your common sense, if you are unsure about meeting someone then don't, your instincts are usually right.

If you want your photo to stand-out, get noticed, and get responses, you need to follow a few simple rules:

1) Smile! You wouldn't believe the difference this makes.

2) Make it recent - within the last year - if you don't have any recent shots buy a cheap disposable camera and get some one to snap a few, when you get them developed have them put on a disc just, about every film developer will do this.

3) No sunglasses! People respond better when they can see your eyes. Don't hide them!

4) Don't include exs (cropping them out doesn't count either!)! It sends 'I'm-not-over-them-yet' signals.

5) Close-ups work best! A picture of you standing in 30 feet away from the camera blurry & fuzzy won't cut it.

6) No group shots! This is about YOU not your friends.

7) Keep your clothes on! Sexy clothing is all right, people respond better when you leave a little to the imagination, even in the adult dating services.

8) People are interested in seeing what you look like, not your dog, cat, pet iguana, car or boat. (see rule 6...insert pets, cars, etc

9) If the service offers second and third photo slots use them to show off your personality a bit, (this is where you can pose with your pet, car, boat, etc) but keep the primary photo simple.

10) Try to avoid posed or formal photos. Candid shots work the best.
